Womens History Month Spotlight: Week Four

Womens History Month Spotlight: Week Four

This Women's History Month, we're proud to spotlight incredible women who inspire us and create lasting impacts. This week, we’re highlighting two incredibly committed leaders: Pachy Banks, Director of Development at the Chester County History Center, and Carley A. Razzi, President of Penns Woods Winery.

Let’s take a moment this week to recognize and appreciate these women for their hard work and dedication.

Pachy Banks

Pachy was born and raised in the Dominican Republic sometime before cell phones became popular (which she considers a blessing in disguise for her childhood). Ten years ago, she brought her talents to the United States, where she has worked her way through important positions in fundraising and marketing at Main Line Art Center, Please Touch Museum, and Chester County History Center.

A renaissance woman at heart, Pachy's career began on stage as a professional dancer, actor, and musical theater performer—proving early on that standing still wasn't her strong suit. Her diverse expertise now spans communications, public relations, marketing, fundraising, and the arts. She is an award-winning photographer, visual artist, and writer in her native Spanish, and recently added "filmmaker" to her ever-growing résumé after writing and directing her Opera Prima feature film.

Pachy is passionate about people and finds great joy in connecting with community members through her work. When not juggling multiple creative pursuits, she can be found contemplating Ralph Waldo Emerson's definition of success: "...to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!”." However, if you ask her, success might also include finding time to sleep between all her projects.

Carley A. Razzi

Carley Razzi is the President of Penns Woods Winery, leading the strategic direction of the brand while staying true to its core values of producing Pennsylvania-grown grapes and producing premium wines. Joining her father in Penns Woods Winery in 2009, she is now a key figure in the Pennsylvania wine community. Carley is a dedicated advocate for the recognition and growth of Pennsylvania wine and grapes; She currently serves as the Treasurer for The Wine Marketing and Research Board of Pennsylvania and is an active member of the Winery Committee for the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. She has also held leadership roles in the Pennsylvania Wine Association, the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail, and the Vintage Atlantic Wine Region.

With a degree in business management and marketing from Colorado State University, Carley grew up immersed in the wine industry, working alongside her father, Gino Razzi, at WinesU, his wine import company. She has traveled extensively, experiencing wines from across Italy, Spain, and the United States to deepen her knowledge and refine her palate.

Beyond her professional life, Carley enjoys hiking with her children, exploring National Parks, and attending live music events. She resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia with her two children and their dog, Vino.

Thank you, Pachy and Carley, for your hard work, dedication, and the positive impact you make in your fields and communities. We appreciate everything you do!
