This was was such an energizing start to a year full of events designed for our business community. Our next monthly networking event will be another Morning Buzz!

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 25th from 8:30am to 10:00am at...Twin Valley Coffee: River Station! Registration will open soon, so stay tuned.

Youth Leadership Program

This week, our Youth Leadership Program (YLP) visited our neighbors at CTDI for one of the most exciting days of the program year!

Matt Parsons, the Vice President of Engineering and Innovation, gave the students a personal welcome and an introduction to CTDI's history and current expansion.

The students then conducted a technical challenge using equipment from CTDI to work on team building and attention to detail. One of the best parts of the day is the guided tours through the different departments and workshops on CTDI's campus.

Special thanks to CTDI for their commitment to our next generation of workers and innovators!

Legislative Update

PA General Assembly Begins Legislative Session

Both the Pennsylvania Senate and House swore in their members on January 7th and elected their respective leaders. Senator Kim Ward (R-Westmoreland) was elected again by her colleagues to be the President Pro Tempore. The House also approved a Rules package establishing some new process items and establishing three new committees:

  • Intergovernmental Affairs and Operations Committee - Majority Chair, Rep Dave Delloso (D-Delaware). Minority Chair, Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks)

EHD

At EHD, we’re an insurance partner you can count on. We’re a full-service, privately held insurance brokerage offering Employee Benefit Services, Commercial Insurance, Surety, Personal Insurance, Risk Control Services and the expertise of an in-house claims team to a wide array of organizations and individuals.

We are real people with knowledge and understanding of insurance. Paying attention to the details as trusted advisors, we offer our clients peace of mind. We strive to bring professionalism and integrity through every step of your insurance journey. With four regional offices located across Pennsylvania, we are able to couple the resources of a large national broker with the personal touch of a locally based partner.

Our History:

Established in 1896, Engle-Hambright & Davies, Inc. – now EHD – has its roots in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania law firm of William B. Given. It was there that Christian Engle began negotiating the preparation and sale of insurance contracts. Mr. Engle left the firm in 1906 to join the Lancaster Real Estate Company. In 1918, he and William T. Hambright changed the company’s name to Engle and Hambright, incorporating that company in 1934.

After the addition of Robert F. McMurtrie (Mr. Engle’s son-in-law) and Edward F. Jaeger in 1937, the main focus of the firm shifted from real estate to insurance. The company eventually became Engle-Hambright & Davies, Inc., known today simply as EHD. Since the early 1970s, EHD has opened and/or acquired nine additional insurance agencies in strategic areas of Pennsylvania. These have evolved into EHD’s four current regional offices located in Exton, Lancaster, Pittsburgh, and Wyomissing.

Why we’re excited to join:

As members of the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, we look forward to participating in the many events and networking opportunities as well as deepening our already strong connection with our Chester County community.

At EHD, think of us as your co-pilot. Your needs are first, and we’re here to keep you on track.
