CCCBI celebrated an incredible evening at last Thursday's Women Influencing Business Awards Dinner!

Our award winners, Rosemary Fordjour of Row Psychiatric and Samantha Jackson of EZ Pizzi Cleaning, captivated the audience with their inspiring stories and motivations.

This long-standing tradition from the WIB Committee continues to shine a light on the ingenuity, strength and impact that the women of our Chester County Community are making each and every day. The committee could not have chosen two more inspiring or deserving honorees.

Thank you to our Keynote Speaker Ann King Lagos of REALM Fine + Fashion Jewelry, our host the Chester Valley Golf Club, our guest speakers Lou Oswald of Oswald Building Services and Bertram Lawson of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine, our generous Sponsors, and most of all...thank you to all who joined us to recognize Rosemary and Samantha! Are Data Centers Having an Economic Impact?

In an increasingly digitized world, data centers are becoming critical by providing the physical backbone of modern cloud-based business. The economic impact of data centers can be split into two distinct phases: the construction phase, lasting 18-24 months, and the operational phase.

On average, data centers require around 165,000ft of rentable space, a building shell, and the acquisition and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment, resulting in an initial capital investment of millions per project.

The economic impact during construction provides both direct and indirect local jobs, as well as state-wide downstream economic impact. Building a data centers can provide 1,688 local jobs, resulting in $7.77 million in wages, $243.5 million in local second-level economic activity, and providing $9.9 million in state and local tax revenue for the region.

Normal operation requires expenditure on energy, staffing, maintenance, and administrative costs. An estimated $7.4 million is spent annually on energy alone per site. Indeed, during regular operation, economic impact continues. Data centers provide 157 local jobs, $7.8 million in wages, $32.5 million in second-level economic activity, and an approximately $1.8 million in state and local tax revenue each year.

After construction and operational phases have started, these centers provide significant spillover benefits to the community. Investment in data centers can attract a pool of skilled workers to the community, resulting in local infrastructure improvement to support the increased economic activity, and further providing the community with grants, STEM education, computer donations, and other non-money benefits.

CCCBI will continue to offer resources and information as data centers grow in Chester County and the region.

White Manor Country Club

White Manor Country Club is renowned for its casual elegance and vibrant membership. Following a multi-million dollar capital infusion by Concert Golf Partners, the iconic club along the Main Line in Malvern, Pa., has now opened its doors to a new era.

With a goal of further creating a modern day “Countryside Retreat Meets Legacy Links” look and feel, White Manor unveiled an impressive multi-million dollar clubhouse renovation with a grand reopening for 350 members and guests on May 9.

Building on its existing integrity while adding a layered, refined, comfortable, and transitional aesthetic, the club’s interior was reimagined to improve the overall flow and circulation. The main lobby and foyer of the 112,000-sq. ft. clubhouse were fully renovated with new hardwood floors, a reception desk, wallpapering and refurbishment of the club’s rock wall entranceway.

The Member side of the clubhouse also was reconfigured, highlighted by the installation of 48 wooden wine lockers in a newly created hallway designed to improve the flow of the building. The area was accented by new carpeting and distinctive wainscots.

“The renovations at White Manor are designed to celebrate and pay homage to the club’s remarkable history using modern touches and innovation, as we look to the club’s very bright future,” said Aaron Straub, Senior Vice President of Operations for Concert Golf Partners. “Concert Golf Partners is dedicated to reinvesting in our portfolio of upscale private clubs to enhance our members’ experience.”

Another impressive addition is a new Premier Lounge–a multi-purpose room where members can retreat to a more intimate work, dine, and gathering space.

The Simulator Room expanded from one to two state-of-the-art Full Swing Simulators. The room is available for private functions, with newly created seating areas for 24 people. A separate Simulator Lounge, located outside the Simulator Room, offers additional seating, set against a gas fireplace that serves as a wonderful setting for gatherings and games. The room can be combined with the Simulator Room for larger events.

The dining room and bar were completely renovated with a mix of banquette, bar, counter, and dining height seating. An old wall was removed to dramatically combine the area with the Manor Room which now opens up to 2,030 sq. ft. for weddings and other grand celebrations.

“I know that a change such as we had at White Manor these past few months has had a huge impact at every level of the club, and it is a wonderful thing when those challenges are recognized and the acknowledgement to have accomplished it all can be celebrated,” said White Manor Member Sussanne DiBianca. “It was a fantastic celebration, and we extend our thanks and congratulations to the entire staff of White Manor.”

More than high-quality golf, White Manor has a reputation for both fun and refinement coming from an active, vibrant membership which enjoys a country club experience ranging from casual to elegant and family-focused to adult.

The historic and scenic property is located on 170 acres of rolling panorama in southern Chester County’s Hunt Country, which was originally land granted by William Penn in 1711. White Manor was founded over 60 years ago and acquired by Concert Golf Partners in 2017.

Concert Golf is a boutique owner-operator of upscale private golf and country clubs nationwide, focused on preserving the unique culture, identity and traditions of its 33 clubs nationwide. Concert consistently makes annual capital investment in its clubs. The upgrades are aimed at enhancing amenities, service levels and the overall member experience, while building and maintaining a thriving club environment.
