On Tuesday afternoon, CCCBI proudly partnered with Mathnasium of Kennett Square and the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate their grand opening with a special ribbon cutting ceremony!

Our Director of Member Engagement, Jarrod Rabatin and CCCBI Ambassador Drew Braun visited the beautiful office space, filled with fun and educational pieces of art and success stories.

"As parents and business owners, our hearts are so full celebrating Mathnasium’s Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony," said Crista Austin, Owner & Center Director of Mathnasium of Kennett Square. "This is such a huge milestone for our center and a dream come true to create a place where kids in our community can grow in confidence and truly love math."

Congratulations to Crista and her entire team on this milestone!

An Impactful Speaker Series Session with Creative Financial Group

This morning, the Chamber hosted Creative Financial Group in our 1st Speaker Series of the year!

Keith Maguire and Kyle Mittelstadt, Financial Planners from Creative Financial Group, presented an intimate session focused on sharing the Pillars of Financial Planning for Business Owners.

With 50+ years in the business, Creative Financial Group developed each pillar from client and personal experiences. This gave each pillar intentionality and importance when planning for what’s next. Advantages with using Creative Financial Group are:

Keith and Kyle stressed the importance of organization and documentation when it comes to planning for what’s next. Which not only will help the Business Owner and employees but family as they navigate emotional and difficult decisions. Creative Financial Group is with you to build your plan and adjust to support you as you go!

Guests also enjoyed some delicious breakfast and pastries from ANEU Kitchens during the event.

Meet our Interns

Please join us in welcoming our two fantastic interns, Alana Acosta and Mia Tobin!

Alana is a second year Business Administration student in the Honors Program at Neumann University with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility and an intent to pursue entrepreneurship and AI. She is an active member on her campus as a Presidential Ambassador, president of the Praise Choir, a Community Peer Campus Minister, as well as participating in the Neumann Theater program. Alana is an avid member in her church community as the acting Social Media Coordinator, cantor for masses, and 3rd Grade Religious Education Teacher. Through these experiences, she has strengthened and learned new leadership, organizational, communication skills and more. Alana is grateful for the opportunity to work with the Chamber to continue to grow in the business field.

"My time at the Chamber so far has been a rewarding practical experience. I am very grateful for the Chamber Team who welcomed me and trusted me with projects. I can’t wait to continue to learn, grow, and make a difference and new connections through this internship. See you at the next networking event!”

Mia Tobin is a junior at West Chester University majoring in accounting. She attended St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia. Since starting college in 2023, she's really enjoyed building a life on campus—meeting new people, making friends, and growing more confident in her independence. Mia is an active member of Kappa Delta and the Women in Business Club, both of which have helped her connect with people who inspire and challenge her.

"In October 2025, I began interning with the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, where I support the CCCBI staff with Chamber events and work alongside, Marianne Martelli, at Youth Leadership Program days. My time at the Chamber has shown me how much success depends not only on hard work, but also on being present, making connections, and showing up for yourself and others. These lessons will guide me in the classroom and with setting professional goals for myself after I graduate."

As Alana and Mia work with us this semester, we hope they can connect with the Membership that they work tirelessly  to support!

Legislative Update

Higher Education & Trades Roundtable

Last week, the Chamber convened a Higher Education & Trades Roundtable, bringing together leaders from Immaculata UniversityWest Chester UniversityLincoln UniversityCheyney UniversityNeumann University, and IBEW Local 654 for a collaborative discussion on workforce development in Chester County.

CCCBI’s Government Affairs consultant Alex Rahn was also was the call to discuss legislation geared toward higher education, workforce development, and other policy areas that may provide funding or support.

Participants introduced their institutions and shared insights into their respective missions, student populations, and training models. A major theme of the conversation was experiential learning and how internships, co-ops, apprenticeships, and hands-on training are essential to preparing students and job seekers for long-term career success.

Our higher education partners highlighted innovative approaches to embedding real-world experience into academic programs, while our labor representative from IBEW 654 shared how structured, hands-on apprenticeship programs provide a direct pathway to high-demand careers. The group explored how these models can complement one another, creating stronger connections between traditional degree pathways and skilled trades.

A key takeaway from the discussion was the shared belief that employers must have more “skin in the game.” Companies seeking interns and future employees play a critical role in strengthening the talent pipeline — whether by offering meaningful experiential learning opportunities, investing time in mentorship, or building deeper partnerships with our education and training institutions.

The Chamber looks forward to continuing these conversations and working collaboratively to align education, training, and employer needs - ensuring Chester County remains competitive, innovative, and prepared for the workforce of tomorrow.

CCCBI is convening more industry specific groups in 2026 and seeking volunteers to help us coordinate various industries – construction, banking, healthcare, and others. Please reach out to jarrod@chescochamber.org for more information.
