Youth Leadership Program Hosts 2023-2024 Kick-Off Dinner

On Tuesday, August 29th, the Chester County Chamber Foundation's Youth Leadership Program (YLP) hosted their 2023-2024 Kick-Off Dinner at the beautiful Penn Oaks Golf Club.

High School students from across Chester County have the opportunity to learn from business leaders, industry professionals, political representatives, and more to develop their own leadership skills by attending full-day sessions outside of the classroom.

This real-world experience offers students a chance to enhance their communication skills and critical thinking by speaking to members of our community, who volunteer their time to educate and support the next generation of our workforce. Trough connections made in this program, students can return to Chester County with invaluable connections and opportunities.

This program is funded by the Chester County Chamber Foundation, please consider making a donation in support of these students kickstarting their professional journey. Email Marianne Martelli for information on how to support this program or host a Program Day at your business.

Legislative Update

CCCBI Government Affairs Committee to Discuss PA Budget Impasse

The Pennsylvania State Senate returned this week to advance portions of the unfinished state budget for this fiscal year.  The package includes the Pennsylvania Award for Student Success (PASS) Program, a controversial school voucher program as well as spending for hospitals, medical assistance incentive payments, EMS providers, higher education, judicial fees, clean stream and library programs.  The House must still vote on this package but is likely to further change the legislation setting the stage for further negotiations when they return at the end of September.

CCCBI's Government Affairs Committee (GAC) will convene on Thursday, September 7th from 8:00 to 9:00am at the CCCBI Office to discuss the ongoing impasse and other issues currently facing the County. Please join us to add to the discussion and make your voice heard.

These meetings are open to ALL!
