Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with iThrive Coworking Paoli

Last Thursday evening marked a special milestone for iThrive Coworking, the grand opening of their Paoli location!

iThrive Coworking is a locally owned and operated coworking company creating flexible, community-driven workspaces throughout the Greater Philadelphia suburbs. What began with its flagship location at Ambler Yards has grown into a regional network serving entrepreneurs, remote professionals, small businesses and growing teams.

Led by Cofounder & CEO Karen Mellor in partnership with Station Partners principals Matt Sigel and Marc Policarpo, iThrive has expanded its footprint across the region with locations in Ambler, Wyncote, Doylestown, Paoli, and West Chester. Each location is designed to reflect the community it serves while delivering the same welcoming, flexible and hospitality-driven iThrive experience.

The opening of iThrive Paoli, led by Paoli Community Manager, Sarah Alazawee, marks an exciting period of growth for the company, alongside the upcoming opening of its West Chester location, led by Community Manager, Dan Jackson. As iThrive expands into new communities, its focus remains on creating thoughtfully designed workplaces that combine private offices, coworking, meeting spaces and opportunities for genuine connection.

At its core, iThrive believes a great workplace is about more than desks and offices. Its goal is to give members the flexibility and resources they need to do their best work, while creating the sense of community that can be difficult to find when working from home or in a traditional office.

Congratulations to Karen, Matt, Marc, Sarah and their entire team!

Health & Wellness Shared Interest Group Discusses Workforce, Medicaid & Employee Well-Being

This week, members of CCCBI’s Health & Wellness Shared Interest Group gathered at Triple Crown in Radnor for a candid conversation about the challenges facing healthcare employers and their workforce. Thank you to Fearless Restaurants and Sydney Grims for hosting our group.

The discussion brought together Chamber members representing hospitals and health systems, senior care, home healthcare, therapy and other areas of the health and wellness sector.

Workforce stress and employee well-being were major themes of the conversation. Members discussed the continued high levels of stress and burnout among employees and the importance of intentionally building workplace cultures where employees feel valued and supported.

Ideas ranged from Spirit Weeks and employee potlucks to incorporating movement and opportunities to step away from the office during the workday. While relatively simple initiatives, members emphasized the importance of creating connection and helping employees better manage workplace stress.

Recruitment and workforce shortages also remain significant challenges. Main Line Health shared its experience with vacancies among nurses and non-clinical positions and the increasing resources required to recruit employees. Positions such as LPNs, which historically did not require extensive recruitment efforts, are now increasingly competitive. Healthcare employers are recruiting nationally, utilizing professional recruiters and spending significantly more to fill critical positions.

That conversation also reinforced an issue the Chamber continues to raise with policymakers: the cost of housing and its impact on workforce recruitment and retention. Members noted that recruiting employees from outside the region can be difficult because of the cost of living and housing. For healthcare employers already competing nationally for talent, housing affordability has become another component of the workforce challenge.

Members also discussed the anticipated impacts of federal H.R. 1, including upcoming changes affecting Medicaid, and the uncertainty healthcare organizations are navigating as they prepare for implementation and consider how future elections and policy decisions could affect the industry.

These conversations are exactly why CCCBI created our Shared Interest Groups. They provide members working in similar sectors an opportunity to speak candidly about common challenges, learn from one another, identify emerging policy issues and recognize that many of the pressures they are experiencing are shared across the industry.

We are especially grateful to Michael Staiber of Mercy LIFE Chester County for his leadership of the Health & Wellness Shared Interest Group and to all of our members who contributed to such a productive conversation.

Sunflower Caregivers, LLC

Born from Personal Experience and a Heart for Caring

Sunflower Caregivers, LLC proudly celebrated its grand opening on June 1, 2026, marking the beginning of an exciting journey to provide compassionate, dependable non-medical home care to individuals and families in West Chester and surrounding Pennsylvania communities. For Sunflower Caregivers' founders, home care is much more than a business-it is personal.

The inspiration to enter the home care field came from experiencing firsthand how life can change unexpectedly and how important compassionate support can be for individuals and their families.

My husband was involved in a serious car accident, my sister experienced a stroke, and my mom is facing significant challenges with her mobility.

Through these personal experiences, I saw the importance of having dependable people available to provide care, support, encouragement, and a helping hand when families need it most.

Those experiences helped shape the heart and mission of Sunflower Caregivers,LLC: to care for others with the same compassion, dignity, and respect that we would want for our own loved ones.

Located at 117 W. Gay Street in West Chester, Sunflower Caregivers provides non-medical home care services including companionship, medication reminders, grooming assistance, light housekeeping, and support with everyday activities.

We understand that inviting a caregiver into your home is a significant decision. Our goal is to build trust with every client and family while providing personalized support that promotes comfort, dignity, independence, and peace of mind.

As a new local business, Sunflower Caregivers is excited to become an active part of the West Chester community. We look forward to building relationships with local businesses, healthcare professionals, rehabilitation facilities, senior communities, social workers, and community organizations.

Joining the Chamber ofCommerce is an important step in that journey. We are excited to connect with fellow business owners, support our community, develop meaningful partnerships, and grow alongside other local businesses.

Our June 1 grand opening was only the beginning. Sunflower Caregivers, LLC is committed to making a positive difference-one client, one family, and one relationship at a time.

"My experience with my own family taught me that sometimes the greatest gift you can give someone is simply being there when they need you. That is the heart behind Sunflower Caregivers."
