Celebrating Summer with CCCBI's Young Professionals

Last Thursday, CCCBI hosted our Young Professionals Summer BBQ with over 80 Members and friends of the network! Our hosts at Greencastle Consulting opened the Winchester and patio for our guests to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Attendees enjoyed a relaxed summer setting where they could do more than just network— they could connect with their peers!

At this second annual event, our Young Professionals enjoyed some outstanding BBQ from Farm Boy BBQ and locally crafted beer from Artillery Brewing Company, both Members of the Chamber.

To make the evening even more memorable, our guests had the chance to experience Stick 'Em Axe-Throwing Club's brand new mobile axe-throwing trailer! This was such a unique activity for our YPs to let loose and have some fun.

Events like this highlight the importance of building relationships, supporting local businesses, and creating meaningful opportunities for professionals to engage outside the traditional networking setting.

A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event one to remember!

Welcoming Women Who Lead

On Tuesday afternoon, CCCBI partnered with our friends at the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce for Women Who Lead, a special networking happy hour, sponsored by Brumbaugh Wealth Management, in honor of Women's Equality Day.

Testa Rossa - Glen Mills hosted 75 industry leaders, entrepreneurs, local legislators and friends on their stunning patio. Guests were able to enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres, wine and conversation in a comfortable setting. Our hosts also provided takeaway bags of Testa Rossa Pasta to keep the memories fresh.

This highly-anticipated event sold out weeks prior, and it was easy to see why. The room was filled with positive energy as women from diverse industries and backgrounds came together; some reconnecting with familiar faces, others meeting for the first time.

What made the evening remarkable was not just the number of attendees, but the sense of community that formed so naturally. By partnering to host this event, CCCBI and Delco Chamber highlighted our commitment to creating spaces where women can celebrate one another, support one another, and lead with confidence into the future.

Thank you to Delco Chamber, Brumbaugh Wealth Management, Testa Rossa - Glen Mills and everyone who joined us for another high-impact gathering!

Networking Niche

Last night, CCCBI had the pleasure of partnering with Philadelphia's Irish American Business Chamber & Network and Exton Region Chamber of Commerce for Networking Niche: Chesco Edition!

Our Members love to meet, connect and engage with professionals from different businesses and industries across the region, so this tri-chamber collaboration was a no-brainer for CCCBI to sign up for.

Attendees visited the Stables Kitchen & Beer Garden for some great networking, small bites and cold beers. With the perfect weather, we were able to spread out on the patio to keep the conversation going for the full two hours.

Thank you to our partners and attendees who made this gathering so special!

25 Years of Leadership Chester County

Applications Now Open for 2025-2026 Class

Leadership Chester County (LCC), the region’s premier professional development program for nonprofit board leadership, is proud to announce that applications are now open for its 2025–2026 class. This year marks a very special milestone: the 25th anniversary of the program.

Launched in 2001 as the Chester County Leadership Connection and renamed Leadership Chester County in 2011, the program has remained committed in its mission to prepare community-minded professionals to serve as effective nonprofit board members. Over the past 25 years, LCC has graduated hundreds of alumni who now serve in leadership roles across Chester County and beyond, strengthening nonprofits and shaping the civic landscape of the region.

LCC’s comprehensive eight-month curriculum runs from October through May, meeting one full weekday each month. Participants engage in interactive sessions led by distinguished speakers, community leaders, and subject matter experts, covering critical areas such as community development, collaboration, advocacy and effective governance. Graduates leave the program with enhanced leadership skills, a deeper understanding of Chester County’s needs, and nonprofit board placement assistance to connect them with organizations aligned with their passions and expertise.

“Reaching our 25th year is both a celebration and a reminder of the lasting impact Leadership Chester County has had on our community,” said Kelly Cockshaw, Director of Leadership & Innovation at Chester County United Way. “We’re proud to honor the vision of those who started this program in 2001, and excited to continue preparing the next generation of leaders who will guide nonprofits through today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.”

LCC welcomes individuals at every stage of life and career—seasoned professionals, retirees, and those just beginning their careers. Participants represent a wide range of sectors, including business, government, education, and nonprofits. The program is designed for those who are curious about how the community works and are motivated to make a meaningful impact.

Administered and facilitated by Chester County United Way, in partnership with West Chester University and the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry, Leadership Chester County has become a trusted resource for building civic leadership. With the support of dedicated partners and sponsors, the program has developed a strong network of alumni who bring their skills and passion to nonprofit boards and community initiatives throughout the region.

Applications are open now through September 12, 2025.
