CCCBI has been asked to spread the word to our members and their employees regarding the street closures planned in downtown West Chester on Friday, December 1st, 2023 in preparation for the West Chester Christmas Parade.
The street closures will significantly impact travel in and around the borough of West Chester beginning around 4pm that afternoon, opening back up to vehicle traffic around 10pm that evening. We encourage our member businesses and organizations to plan accordingly and inform employees to anticipate significant travel delays into and through this area. The following is an outline of the streets that will be closed/impacted:
All Streets Closed on Friday 12/1 from 4:30pm – 10:00pm.
Parade Route: (No Street Parking Signs will be posted in much of this area as well and subject to removal)
Gay Street between Matlack and New St.
Market Street between Matlack and Bradford Ave.
Walnut Street between Chestnut and Miner St.
High Street between Chestnut and Miner St.
Church Street between Chestnut and Market St.
Darlington Street between Chestnut and Wollerton Ally
New Street between Chestnut and Market St.
Streets Significantly Impacted by the Parade Staging Area (Where all Parade Elements Are Staged):
West Market Street between New and Bradford Ave. will be closed from 4:30pm-10pm. No parking will also be posted here 3pm-10pm and vehicles are subject to removal.
Everhart Street between Harmony Alley and Hoopes Alley/S. Everhart will be closed from 4:30pm – 10pm.
N/S Travel will be open on Wayne Street but will close at the start of the parade around 6:30pm and reopen at 10pm. (expect very slow travel)
Travel on Brandywine Street will remain open but will close at the start of the parade around 6:30pm and reopen at 10pm. (expect very slow travel)
